FANCY DRESS DANCE AT UNIVERSITY.-

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 1930.

The Great Hall of the Hongkong University presented an animated aceno on Saturday night, when re- vellers, in all sorts and conditions of attractive fancy costumes, danced in the vaulted chamber. The occasion was the fancy dress ball given by the Lady Undergra- duates to swell the funds of the new Women's Hostel nt the Varsity and a good sum must have been realized as a result of their offorts, while they certainly gave a most enjoyable evening to the big crowd which attended.

Loss of Mr. Halward.. During the year St. Peter's had suffered a temporary loss, and had made a permanent gain. The loss he referred to was the departure on leave of the Rev. Halward, who in addition to his duties Bishop's secretary, had acted as priest to St. Peter's. The latter work, together with the interest he look in the Young Men's Club, would have been more than a full time job in ordinary circumstances.
