Cricket at its best was seen in the two-days' match between the Hongkong C. C. and the United Ser- vices, which came to a inish 'yes terday afternoon, resulting in a win for the Club by seven runs, aftern game full of fluctuating fortunes and thrills.
On Thursday, the first day's play, the Services had all the best of the game, and when their first innings came to a close early yes. terday morning, they had es tablished a lead of 30 runs.

What was more surprising, how ever, was se complete collapse of the Services when they made their attempt to score 10 runs to win. From the outset, A. Reid and Beck bowled wonderfully. They both found a perfect length in their first overs, which they maintaned, whilst their flighting and spin, were sufficient to keep the batsmen guessing all the time. In addition the Services fell into the all-too common error of adopting!
