STRENUOUS FIGHTING:

A. B. Ewin, one of the finest fighters in the East, knocked out Licut C. G. H. Christian, R.A. in the second round of their six- rounds contest at the City Hall on Saturday: It should have been the most interesting match of the Army, Navy series, but training old and Ewin was an easy winnor. Lieut. Christian did not appear to have taken his training aerlously. He was not fighting fit. He had played cricket in the afternoon, and was unable to do justice to himself in the evening.

But few teams could have re- stated the Borderers in such a mood: Not only 1328 their approach work impeccable, but their shooting was deadly accurate.

They worked for and obtained five perfect openings in the course of the first half, and scored four Limes, Everest foozling on one occasion. Each time Angus was benten it was by a first-time shot, with the scorer in an ideal position. Kowloon laid
