In this the new car differs from the Golden Arrow, which had the engines at each end of the chassis, with the driver's cork-pit in the centre. Both are V-type engines, with each hunk Containing six cylinders.
In aearances the Sunbeam is very much like the, Golden Arrow, with the radiators filling in the spaces between the wheels at the sides, and fitting in with the streamlining design. general. Kaye Don was measured before the designs were begun, and the cockpit fits him so closely that the steering wheel has to be removed before he can enter. The sireum- lining for the back of the driver's head is about 4ft. from the ground, and is. the highest point, of the bodywork.
Kaye Don expects the ear to attain a speed of 205 miles per hour, at which pace the tyres will Just for about 60 seconds; leng enough for him to establish a new record, or defend the old one against the challengers. The car was designed by Louis Contalen.
