CHANGE OF CALENDAR AN AMAZING RECORD.
CHINESE MOVEMENT IN FAVOUR OF GREGORIAN,
At a recent meeting held by the Mayor of Greater Shanghai and bía subordinates at the Muni- elpality, it was decided to enforce the order issued recently by the National Government for, the aboli tion of the lunar calendar and the observance of Gregorian year.
The measures decided upon. for the enforcement of this order, as cording to the Shuapo, are
(1) That a meeting be held at the municipality of Greater Shang- hat at 9 am. on January 1, 1980. to celebrate the. Now Year and the 19th anniversary of the foundation of the Chinese Republic;
(2) That the Mayor be at home on New Year's Day to fo reign..consular officials;

A Programme.
The following programme has been fixed by the local Kuomintang in oliservance of the New Year fes- tival (solar system):
