Tokyo, Dec. 28. The Diet was convened this morning, the formal opening in the presence of the Emperor, being on December 26. The Diet will ad- journ for the New Year recess on the following day and re-open on January 21.

Since the Hanworth Club opened on 31st August there has beca a continuous influx of new members. The oncoming of winter has done nothing to damp the ardour of the members to get into the air. The flying carried out in the course of the past eleven weeks amounts to 1446 hours, a total surpassing that of many an Air Force Squadron and far exceeding the record of any other flying club."

An equal keenness for flying a shown at flying centres all over the country. The Hull Aero Club, which was started by National Flying Services on October 11th, succeeded in flying a total of 87 hours during its first month, despite cnused by bad interruptions weather. The Nottingham Club, which is working with one machine lant to it by N.P.S; flow 65 hours In September and 45 hours in October. With its excellent now aerodrome at Tollerton, provided by the Nottingham Corporation, it is one of the most flourishing in- fants in the flying club world.
