Mr. E. S. C. Brooks, of Messrs. Hastings. Dennys and Bowley, re presented Weng Sook-to, a retired partner of the firm who appeared au the complainant on a power of attorney from Chu Kwok-wa, an- other partner. Mr. F. C. Jenkin, instructed by Mr. H. K. Woo, was counsel for the defence.

Ir opening his case, Mr. Brooks said that the Wing Hing was co-partnership trading as cadors. The firm was originally started by Wong Sook-to, the complainant, who put in 310,000. Three other partners contributed $3,500. $1,000. and $500 respectively. By virtue of his big holdings, Wong Sook-to took over the management of the business, and he continued in that capacity until after the admission of Yau Ka-wai as a fifth partner In the business, when the mana Kership, was handed over to the latter.
