GAOL MUTINY OVER.
THE RINGLEADERS COMMIT SUICIDE.
Canon City, Colo., Oct. 5.. The prison battle at the State Penitentiary which bas been waged since the 3rd inst. between 1,600 mutineering convicts and
the prison authorities, the police and the National Guard, has come to an end, after at least seven war ders and alx convicts have been killed. It is said to have been one of the bloodiest prison mutinica that have ever taken place in Ameri-
са.
On the first day of the mutiny the convicts killed three of the warders in their attempt to escape from the prison, and secured the persons of the others, having the complete control of the institution. The next day, after the assistance of the National Guard had been secured, the convicts were driven back and overwhelmed. The then made their last stand in the cell house.
THE REPARATIONS QUESTION.
MR. GRAHAM ON THE HAGUE
DISCUSSIONS......... ́
London, Oct. 5. In a speech at Edinburgh the President of the Board of Trade, Mr. William Graham, emphasised that the agreement which had been reached at the Hague, whereby Italy guaranteed to order one million tons of coal per year from Britain for three years at the best British export prices, was new business, and it was hoped that it would be the means of en- abling coal exporters to establish themselves in other parts of the Italian market.
EGYPT'S CABINET.
GENERAL SATISFACTION AT CHOICE OF MEMBERS.
Alexandria, Oct 5, The Coalition Cabinet, following the resignation of the Government, will be constituted as follows:
Premier and Minister of the In- terior (M. Adly Pasha).
Minister of Foreign Affairs (M. Midhat Pasha Yeghon).
Minister of Communications (M Sabry Pasha).
M. Sabry Paahaia King Fund's father-in-law. General entisfaction is expressed at the choice of tho remembers, who are all ex-Ministars, except one, and are all without party or partisanship.-Router.
If the German finahelal те- covery WAS maintained there would be no deliveries in kind after that period. Only in the ovent of a breakdown in cash transfer could they be restored.

Later they released] two warders, one of whom was sent with an ultimatum in which they demanded that motor cars with provisions be left at the pri son gate for their use, threaten- ing to kill the other warders and commit suicide If the demand was not complied with.
Finding themselves hopelessly outnumbered, the mutineers releas- ed another of the captive warders, who was allowed to leave the prison. He reported that the ringleaders had fulfilled their threat as far as killing themselves was concerned..
The siege ended with this act of suicide.
During the fighting which had taken place the police and National Guard fired 7,000 rounda into the building. Two at- tempts were made to dynamite the walls of the sector where the con- victs were barricaded,

The immediate object must be to secure an international agree- ment in working conditions, in- cluding better wages and other elemente. Steps were now being
taken to convene at Geneva

Conference of Governments, coal- the mines for the express purpose owners and the representatives of of preparing the way if possible for an international convention on this subject.
In all probability an agreement regarding working hours in Europe would be easier to achieve
than an agreement regarding wages, but an understanding re- garding hours would contributé materially to the solution, of at least part of the British problem in coal.
Proceeding, he emphasised the need for greater trade freedom in the interests of the speedy re- covery of Europe. He recognised that at this stage on the political side much difficulty attended the proposal for a United States of Europe. He believed, in the in- terests of practical politics with definite proposals in the tariff field. Their plan at Geneva has been to secure an agreement that for a period ahead all countries would agree at least not to raise existing tariffa.
