In his speech at the ceremony to celebrate the commencement of work on the British Ford plant at Dagenham (England); Str Percival Perry stated that it had been decided to erect, at a cost of half a million pounds, a refuse destructor and boller plant to con- |sume 1000 tons of house refuse daily. When converted into steam, this will be utilised for the pur- pose of generating electricity.
From this plant more electricity will be generated than required for the Ford plaat, and thus the public will be able to purchase power and light at a much lower price than hitherte.
