The rowing genson is opening here and the Canton Rowing Club have sent out invitations to tha Royal Hongkong Yacht Club and the Victoria Recreation Club take part in an Interport Regatta to be held in Canton on Saturday, November 16th. Both these Clubs have accepted the invitations, though it is not yet known in which events they will compete.
A tentative programme has been drawn up as follows:-Senior Fours (1 mile), Junior Fours (1 (1 mile), mile), Griffins Fours Veterans Fours (4 mile), Senior Pais (4 mile), Junior Pairs milo), Grina Pairs (milo), Double Sculls (34 mile).
The Senior Fours will be rowed for the Cameron Challenge Cup which is actually in the possession of the Canton Rowing Club, which won it at the last Rogatia held here on 19th January, last..
The Junior Fours will row for
the Hongkong Telegraph Challenge Cup which was taken to Hongkong by the crew of the R.I.K.Y.C. in the same Regatta last January.
All members of the Clirbs are eligible to row in the Senior events. Further progress was made yester day in the polo tournament for the Lady Stubbs Cup, presented to the Hongkong Polo Club for competition, when two matches were played. Both résulted in narrow victories.
The favourites, the Somerset Light Infantry team, registered another win, their opponents being the "Typhoona," whom they beat by two goals to one.
