REV. J. HORACE JOHNSTON MARRIED,

Details of the wedding of the Rev, J. Horace Johnston, Minister of Union Church, Kowloon, ara con- tained in papers received, from home. It took place Inst month at St. Mary's Church, Twickenham. and attracted a very large amount of interest.

Rev. J. Horace Johnston left Hongkong on the Rajputana and on reaching Marseilles did the rest-of the journey by aeroplane. His bride was Miss Kathleen Edith Duncan, elder daughter of the late Mr. T. L. Duncan and Mrs. Dun- can of Littlecroft, Osterley Avenue, Twickenham. Mr. Johnston," who is the youngest son of the late Rev. James Johnston, of "Rothesay,' Clyde Rond, St. Leonard's-on-Sea, is a graduate of London University. and after his theological training eutered the Ministry of the Presby- terian Church of England. He has beld charges both in East and West London, at Bow and Belgravia, and is now minister of Union Church, Kowloon. He served with the Y.M.C.A. in France dur ing the Great War.

The bride, who was given away by the Rev. Chisnall, was In a gown of embroidered ivory crepe de rhine brought from Damascus, by the bride's parents, and which was originally worn at her firmation, and was remodelled for the wedding dress. She also wore a handsome Brussels' applique veil worn by the bridegroom's mother and given to the bride, which was kept in place by a wreath of orange blossoms. Her ornament was a Zircon pendant, the gift of the bridegroom, and her bouquet was of cream Fixes qnd carnations,

Miss Violet Duncan whs chief bridesmaid to her sister, and the other attendants were the Missen Robin Walker, Connie Byford, Marjorie Lowrie, and Joyce Dun can, who wore dresses of pale green embroidered silk volle, beige piċ- ture hats trimmed to match, and blonde shoes and stockings. Their ornaments, the gift of the bride- groem, were Jade brooches, mount- ed with Chinese characters in gold, meaning "Long life and happiness,' and their bouquets were composed of love-in-the-mist.

The bride's train-bearers were Miss Gwen Duncan and Master Roy Vining.

After the ceremony, a reception | was held at Leighfield Hall, at which sume 120 guests were received by Mrs. T. L. Duncan, Miss Violet Duncan, and the bride and bride- groom. The toast of the happy. pair was proposed by the Rev. W. H. Weatherhead, the bridegroom replying; the Rev. Donald Ross pro- posed The Bridesmaids," Mr. R. J. Vining replying on their behalf.

The Rev. and Mrs, J. H. John- ston, are spending their honeymoɑn travelling across Canada, visiting friends in Ontario and Saskatelie- won, en route for Hongkong.
