Two Chinese were 'dangerously wounded and more than ten other suffered slight wounds
during a fracas which occurred yesterday in Victorin Street, uear the Central Market. Quito a commotion was caused about midday when it was seen that over a hundred men, with iron bars, knives and bamboo poles were in volved in a fight. More than forty fishmongers belonging to the Central Market were seen lighting
an equal number of street coolies.
When the police arrived on the scene they found that the affair was assuming a serious aspect, and a telephone message was sent to Central and reinforcements im mediately arrived,
The contestants were dispersed without difficulty, but it was found that two men were lying on the ground seriously hurt. Both were rushed to the Government Civil Hospital. Three alleged ring- leaders were detained by the Palice."
