It will be recalled that as a result of recent case in the Summary Court, an order was issued for the

of Chinese shipowners present at the sale, there was only one bid, the vessel being eventually, sold to Mr. Tani Pik-slan. The upset price was $43,000 while the minimum bid was 3600, Mr. Tam offered the minimum bid, and despite Mr. Lammert's ela quence, and his assurance that the vessel had a "good name on the West River, there was no further

Interviewed after tho saic, Mr. Tam said he was still undecided as to what to do with the vessel. Asked if he would put her back on the Hong- koog-Wuchow run, he told our presentative that he might do that and on the other hand, he might not.
