The American ladies' tennis term which under the captaincy of Mies Helen Wills is touring Europe, to-day defeated the French ladies' team in the inter- national match at Autuel! by four matches to three.

The brilliance of Miss Wills en- abled America to win the contest, which was extended over two days.

The weather was fine and a large crowd of spectators assembled on the Moortown links to watch Turnera and Jolly commence the final over thirty-six holes.
