The Chief of the General Staff has informed the Emperor to this effect.--Renter.

QUESTION OF REDUCTION OR LIMITATION.

Animated Discussion.

Geneva, May 2, An animated discussion WOR held by the Disarmament Com- mittee on two proposals for the limitation of war materials, firstly a German one providing for direct Ilmitation through a table show- Ing stocks of arms, and secondly a French one auggesting that budgetary estimates provide an indication of reserve war mater- isla.

Viscount Sato (Japan), Signor De Marinis (Italy), the Czocho- Slovak and Yugo-Slavlan delegates favoured the latter proposal; while the Swedish delegate favour- ed direct limitation, which Mr. Gibson is reported to have also said he preferred.-Reuter,
