HERTZOG IGNORING THE · -
BENATE.
Cape Town, Mar. 1.. The two sections of the Labour Party voted in different lobbies over the Trade Treaty with Germany, Colonel Greswell's followers sup porting the Bill and the National Council section of Labour opposing.
When after the division General Smuts (South African Party), asked the Prime Minister whether the Treaty would now be sent to the Senate.
General Hertzog replied timt the Treaty was purely an Administra- tive matter, but was of such im- portance that the Government had considered it desirable to submit it to the Lower House, which was the People's House, for approval or dis- approval. In doing so the Govern- ment did not intend to convey the impression that in auch Administra tive matters it was necessary for the Government to go so far an to seek the consent of both Houses.

EXCELLENT ENTERTAINMENT AT QUEEN'S COLLEGE.
COD-
An excellent concert was pro- sented at Queen's Collego." on Wednesday night, and was tinued again last night, the Col- lego getting the support of a large number of students and friends of the institution.
There was plenty of variety in the programme on each night, including clover items of Chinese and Western music, Chinose and. European dances, songs and short plays, and it would be invidious to select any item for special prafed Miss Helen Ho and Miss Capell's pupils in their dance Items were exceptionally good, and were heartily applauded. Misa Stolia Ho gave a very good, ex- hibition last night with her "Solo Fan Dance," and altogether the entertainment was of a standard soldom seen in school functions of this nature.
