THE SAMOAN TROUPE,
NATIVE DANCERS TO APPEAR
Uncontaminated by contact with civilization, dances which havo been the real expression of a people for hundreds of years will be scen when the Samoan dancing troupe rives its opening performance to- morrow night at 9.20 p.m. In the Star Theatre.
The dances will be given in costumes of "tapa." The symphony of browns, occurring in the design in this native material, in harmony with the splendid bronze bodies of the dancora, and with the green of "lcis" about the neck and bright flowers worn over the ears of the men, gives a picture which those. who have seen it declare unsur- passed. The feature of the per- formance is the "Siva Siva" dance which is a collective dance given seated on long lines of woven mats. The war knives of the Samoans have a long hook on the end of the blade, formerly used to catch up the head of the victims. During "The Knife Dance," these knives are hooked into each other and whirlcal laut the head at an alarm- ing speed.
Altogether, a most unusual form of entertainment Is promised and Sunday night should see a crowded house at the Star, There, will be short pleture programme before, the fenture attraction.

In "Tempest," the new United Artist picture, which is to be shown at the Queen's Theatre from Wednesday to Saturday, Barry- more appears as a dashing army officer who loves a princess and is sent to prison by her aristocratic Gance.
