"But there is one" form of criticism which has not yet been meted out to them to any great extent, and which, now that it la beginning to be used a little more, they may find much more trying than mero verbal criticism.

I have often wondered how well-known women would react to -the-experience-so-common-to-mon-! who occupy important places · in public life, of seeing themselves day after day presented to the world In caricature.
It seems to me that their escape must be attributed elther to the humiliating view that their work has not been deemed sufficiently important to notice in this way, or else to a certain chivalry on the part of those who might thus have pilloried them.
But, though I hardly think many women actually enjoy seeing themselves publicly caricatured, I am quite sure that more would be able to see the funny side of the experience now than most people think.
