Definition of TRAVELLERS' CHEQUES-
"The system of Travellers Choques was originated in 1891 by the American Express Company with the object of crosting a form of travel currency which would give the holder the security of a letter of crodit and at the same time the convenience of local currency. The Company registered the 'choques under the trado name of AMERICAN EXPRESS TRAVELERS' CHEQUES" the world #Travellers' being spelled with one "L" The advantage of the Cheques was so apparent that other banking institutions adopted the system."
