Future Hopes.

Commenting on the report, the | Bishop said they had had a year of very real progress, especially with regard to the new building at Stanley Peninsula. He was glad that, all being well, the next speech day would be held in the new build- ing. The speaker recalled that when His Excellency the Governor was laying the foundation stone of the new building, he had said he hoped that the 'new St. Stephen's College would mark a new era of education both in Hongkong and in China. The Bishop remarked that that was the proud hope of all of them.

He continued that he was also glad they were moving to Stanley at a time when they had a much stronger staff. They had Mr. Brit- ton, with 15 years' experience at the College, Mr. Ling, Mr. Tang and Mr. Tom. In addition the staff had been considerably reinforced with men of experience.

His Lordship then introduced Mr. Kwok, saying that for many years he had closely Identified Himself with educational work in the Colony. Mr. Kwok delivered a short speech In Chinese, in the course of which he referred to the greater facilitica which would be available in the new building, after which he distributed the prizes.

In proposing a vote of thanks to Mr. Kwak, the Hon. Dr. Tso pointed out that Mr. Kwok was an old frinud of the Collego and he could be re- lied upon strongly to support any educational work,
