The congratulations of the Sanitary Board were yesterday Jendered to the Hon. Mr. J. P. Braga and the Hon. Dr. S. W. Teo on their appointment as Unofficial matabers of the Legislativo Council.
After the business of the Board had been completed the President, Mr. G. R. Sayer said it' was the wish of the Board that he should express on its behalf congratula tions to the two members who had been appointed to the Legio- lative Council.
They were members whose me- thods of rendering public ser- vice were in contrast, but while their methods were different it was obvious that they were direct- ed to the animo end--the well be- ing of the Colony. (Applause).
Thrase present at yesterday's meeting were Mr. G. R. Sayer (President), Dr. H. A. Fawcett (Medical Ufficer of. Health), the Hon. Mr. R. A. C. North, the Hon. Mr. J. P. Braga, the Hon. Dr. S. W. Teo, Dr. S. C. Ho, Mr. Wong Kwong-tin, Dr. W. V. M. Koch and Mr. J. Watson, Secretary.
Public Bath Houses.

Mr. Wong Kwong-tin naked questions regarding the number of public bath houses in existence, their locality, hours of service etc, enquiring also whether the attention of the public, particular- ly the labour class, had been drawn to the existance of auch conveniences.
The President replied that there were four bath houses and one being constructed at Boundary street, Shamshuipo. The latter is expected to be completed in about a month. The other four are lo- cated at Second Street, Sai Ying Pun, Pound Lane, Tai Ping Shan, Cross Lano, Wanchdi, and Pakhol Street, Yaumati.
Hours of service were given as follows.-Second Street, from 7 a.m. to 12 noon and' 2, p.m. to 6. p.in, Pound Lane, from 7 am. to 12 noon and 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., Cross Lane, from 7

to 12 noon and 4. p.m. to 7. p.m., Pakhol Street, from 6-a.m. to 12 noon and 2. p.m. to 7. p.m. ' It was also stated that hot water la provided and that no fee is made for admisalon,
With regard to the question whether the attention of the pub- lic had been drawn to the exta- tence of such conveniences, the President anid the bath houses wore well known. He was not
aware of any 'special notices be ing issued. During last year the bath houses were used by 1,144,- 277 people.
Water at New Year.
Mr. Wong Kwong-tin, pursuant to notice, asked: "In view,of_the approaching Chinese New Year when there is a general increase in house cleansing and in view of the shortage of waler, will the Head of the Sanitary Department · kindly arrange to give better facilities, particularly to the or- cupants of upper storeys for ob- taining water."

Bea Water For Drains, Pursuant to notice Mr. Wong Kwong-tin also asked “In view of the scarcity of water, will the Head of the Sanitary Department kindly arrange to utilise son water for the purpose of washing drains and gutters, the cleansing of which must frequently be attended- to in order to prevent offensive smells from being emitted?”
Another theft was reported by Mr. B. P. Fletcher, of Harbour View, Chatham Rond. It would up- pear that between midnight and seven o'clock yesterday morning, while Mr. Fletcher was asleep, someone entered the room and get away with a wallet which contained $10. The wallet was lying on a dressing table. The total value of the haul was $16.
