WASHINGTON.

RATIFICATION OF PEACE PACT ENDANGERED.

COOLIDGE'S PROBLEM.

Washington, Jan. 18. Considerable alarm is felt in the legislative jam in which the Kel-- logg Pact for the renunciation of war, and the Bill providing for the construction of fifteen now crul sers appear to have been caught.

The check follows the introduc- tion of both measures to the Senate at the same time.

President Coolige's feeling in the matter is reflected in a con- ference between the leading sup- porters of the peace pact and the President, after which Benntor Borah announced that he will ask on Monday for an agreement to limit the debate on the Pact.
