Well-Matched Teams.
The merit of the Senior Shield games, of which there are two, is contained in the fact that the teams happen to be exceedingly well matched. Form, that not al- ways reliable guide, would sug- gest wins for the Recreio and the K.O.S.B. but Shield-tics are not quite an easy as that and an upset would not come as a great sur- prine.
Neither the Club nor the Re- creio have figured prominently In the Shield Competition in re- b. possibly cent years, cause Kowloon has, almost had the monopoly. The meeting on the Recrelo ground, however, should produce a good gume. The sidea met in the League a fortnight ago when a draw resulted. To-morrow, however, the Recreio will have Gosano once again leading the attack, and this
able the Recrolo
may cp-
to force
decision. The
· Club
aro
also well led, a fact which should make the game more. than or-
dinarily interesting.
The K.O.S:B, who usually do well in the competition are én- raged against the Royal Navy. Here again, the Issue is in doubt. The Borderers have been out of form of late, while the Navy, badly placed in the League, scored a great win over the formidable Queen's eleven last Saturday. The
Borderers won the League, en- counter by 4-1, but it would occa- sion no great surprise if the Navy turned the tablen.
League Matches.
Two Senior League matches are also down for decision. The Queen's meet Kowloon in a post- poned match, and arrangements have been made for playing the game on the Kowloon ground. Kowloon still lack the services of McKelvic, but Easterbrook aur- prised everyono by his great work last Saturday, and Kowloon will go on the field confidont of doing well. It is notablo that the de- Ifence has conceded only 15 goals
Chinese Athletic have entered two teams, while the Police have brought in their Wednesday eleven Last year's finalists, the Athletic and Kowloon, are up against very strong opposition, the former néeting the K.O.S.B. Reserves, and the latter, the Police. Kow- on may win, but it is doubtful If the Athletic will get through.
South China "B," the Recreio, and the Queen's' should all survive this round of the competition.
