American Express Travelers Cheques

Denition of TRAVELLERS' CHEQUES--

"The system of Travellers Cheques was originated in 1891 by the American Express Company with the object of creating a form a travel currency which would give the holder the security of letter of credit and at the same time the convenience of local currency. The Company registered the choques under the trade nama "of' 'AMERICAN EXPRESS TRAVELERS' CHEQUES the world Travellers', being spelled with one "L" The advantage of the Cheques was so apparent that other banking institutions adopted the system."

Quoted from Pitman's Dictionary of Banking by Wm. Thomson, Lasued in G310, G$20,' G$100 and 26 and $10 denomination-- bound in a small handy wallet and cost only 8/4 1 per cont. Secure your steamship tickota, hotel reservation and itineraries; or plan your cruise of tour through:-
