FAILURE TO NOTIFY MEDICAL AUTHORITIES.

That he unlawfully did, knowing or having reason to believe that one Chan Lau was suffering from amall pox, fail to notify the same to the Medical Omeer of Henith or the officer in charge of the nearest Police Station, was the charge brought against the tenant of No. 10, Hong Lok Street! before Mr. E. W. Hamilton at the Kowloon Magistraey yesterday.

A servant appeared in Court and Informed his Worship that the defendant had gone to Canton. She was unable to say when he would be back.

Remarking that the defendant had apparently absconded to Can- ton, his Worship, said that he was unable to pracéed against the servant who appeared. He would adjourn the case sinc die and when the defendant returned it could be brought up again.
