A large crowd watched the semi- Onal match between A. J. Osmund and F. Jones at the Palace Hotel last night, in the snooker championship.

It was a fine game, with some won- derful play by Osmund, who ran out the winner in five frames, with 298 (50, 46, 43, 71 and-59) to Jonos 210 (41, 67, 45, 32 and 25). Osmund had the highest break to dato-31. The highest hitherto, by three other equt- petitors, was 22.
