Despite a fine recovery after Cambridge had crossed their ling: three times, in the first ton minutes, Oxford University could not make up the leeway in the Varsity Rugger match at Twicken- ham, Cambridge University win ning by 14 points (a goal and three tries) to 10 points (penalty goal, a try and a drop goal).

In the House of Lords to-day, Lord Clarendon introduced his proposals for the reform of the Upper House of the Legislature.
This subject has been discuss ed for many years, and in the Par. aliament Act of 1911, which modi- fied the powers of the House of Larts, the reform of Its constitu- tien ivas Joft over to a later date.
No Government measure dealing with the matter Has since been advanced, but many proposals have been put forward by private members.

Firstly, that it was desirable that early steps should be taken to limit the number of members of the House of Lords, and to mako suitable, provision for elective re- presentation of the Peerage and for such other representation or nomination as would ensure to each political party a fair position in the House;
