Necklines are oval, they are V- shaped, they are round, they are square, and a few of them still hont-shaped; but evening. dresses have much loss of that very much covered about the neck and completely uncovered about the arms effect.
A good many deep V lines' are seen in the fronts of evening frocks, and often they are widely cut out at the back as well. This is a fashion which may be re- commended to the owner of a good back, but should be firmly avoid- ed by people who slouch, or have reduced with too much en- thusiasm.
Most necks and most necklines are improved by the right kind of necklace, and some of the French ones are extremely attrac tive.

There is a variation of the crystal necklace which was 90 nan and so sadly killed by too much popularity about a year, ago; but the new one charms in quite; a different way, and as it is not so baay to wear as the 1927 model

The same necklace worn by two different people who have chosen the same frock will produce two entirely different effects. A rather inrge choker for instance will em- phasise any adipose tissue about, the cheeks and chin in a most un- compromising' manner. But when It is worn round a neek that is really too thin it makes the neck look happier, the "salt cellara" less obvious, and the face rounder.
