DRESS ETIQUETTE FOR MEN.
6-TENNIS ELEGANCE.
(By Scribe)
Have you ever seen a crack Tennis player any where who seemed uncomfortable in his clothes as be played?
I never have, and you will agree with me that the first essentisal of any game is COMFORT. There is no reason more-over why comfort should not mean good looks, elegance too.
When you are buying your new Tennis kit remem. ber this and you will not be far wrong, Make sure your Trousers are ample in width, about 22 Inches at the kneo and 18 or 19 at the turn-up. Have the band and pleats at waist, this makes for anugness round the waist, have the sirap and buckle of the sides, Just over the hips.
A bell of white leather or some washing webbing aro most suitable. Coloured leather belts look nice but are liable to stain your clothes with excessivo perspira tion
The trousers may be made of Gaberdine or Flannel, the latter need very careful washing, in fact Bhould be dry-cleaned, I can recommend "Viyella” Cream "Trousering which will stand the severest test of washing
without shrinking.
Your shirt of cotton, taffeta, or flannel may be white or cream and can be in the style with collar to be worn open at the neck or closed, or those cut with a moro Y opening.
It is advisable to wear fairly thick woollen sockn if you wish to have comfort through a fierce set or two, and you will find these do not tire you as much aë thinner socks of silk or cotton.
A White Pull-over or Sweater looks nicest with white trousers and many have Club or Regimental Colours on the border of the neck. These, of course, can be had in various weights to suit the season of the year. Lastly the blazer. If you do, not sport School or Club colours, blue or brown, in either double or singlo breasted, with gilt buttons are always in very good taste. I saw a man the other day in a'cream Flannel blazer with gilt buttons-and very nice it looked too.
