In reply to His Worship she stated

Four junk masters and one mi tress were charged with mooring their trading craft inshore during dark hours without permission and pleaded guilty. They were neverally fined $5 with the usual alternative. One junk master not, appearing, his bail of $10 was estreated.

Four shig boat masters were severally charged with using bright lighta in a prohibited area, to wit, Castle Peak Bay, and pleaded guilty,

Chan Yung, master of the motor boat Wan Ting, pleaded guilty to carrying 14 passengers in excess of the number allowed by licence and stated that he was carrying them by order of his owner, a number of those on board being children.

It was given In evidence by the Police Offeer in charge of the ente that the owner was on board at the time, and the master in turn said that he enrried the

His Worship, pointed out that as the holder of the licence, the accused was responsible for the proper con duet of the boat and that he had betier warn his owner that by com: mitting a breach of regulations, he was laying himself open to a fine $500. À conviction was registered and a fine of $28 with the alternative of one month's imprisonment infileted,

The ., Yorkmoor entered late yesterday afternoon from Calcutta, with Captain W. Thomas in command. In the absence of the Harbour Office Report, no details of cargo or crew' can be given.

The Yorkmoor is a steel screw steamer of 4,457 tons gross and 2,708 tons nett, built to the order of the Mour Line Ltd. (W. Runciman and Co., Mangra.) by J. Readhead and Sons of South Shields.

Registered in London, she has a length of 381 feet, beam 52.4 feet and depth 26.5 feet engined by the builders to 470 N.H.P.
