DRESS ETIQUETTE FOR MEN.
By Scribe)
1-DO YOU KNOW!
"I say, "old man, what do you think of trousers with no turn ups?". Perhaps someone has actually asked you that question, as a man asked me a few days ago. I hope you were able to give him a helpful answer, but do you know what is correct for wear this Autumn and Winterz
As for that question of permanent turn-ups, more are being worn than ever just now and always on Flannel and Tuced. Suits, suggestive of holidays or country wear, but the man who wants a rent, dressy suit for town wear will choose a dark cloth and no turn-ups to the trousers.
To the inexperienced eyo lounge suits will seem much the same this year as inst. A point to be noted however is that the single breasted cont is coming into favour again rapidly, and larger numbers of these will be seen. during the coming winter season. In this style 3 bultons are being worn a good deal, the top button being partially hidden behind the roll of the lapel, which gre cut-higher and show a pronounced roll, they should not be flat, Personally I favour a 2 button coat, it has *a more youthful appearance and is a style which suits
the majority of men.
The broader lapel remains in favour as on the double breasted' style, but thê notched or “step Collar" will also be seen. Should you decido upon a double breasted jacket, first get to know whether it will sult your figure as every man cannot wear one with good effect.
Let your waistcoat have a medium V shaped. opening and make sure you only wear a double breasted waistcoat with a single breasted jacket.
Trousers will not be ultra-wide, for a man of medium height 21 inches at the knee and 18 Inches at the bottom is correct.
As for colours-if you choose browns or blues you will be all right; this of course covers a wide range of reddy browns, cedars, sandy shades, grey browns, dusted blues, electric blues and navy blue, the latter being very smart with a silk stripe of contrasting colour. Greys are always safe and many of the Scotch tweed mixtures are smart,
