WILL FIGHT ELECTION AS INDEPENDENTS.

VIGOROUS SPEECH BY MR. LLOYD GEORGE.

ALLIANCES SCOUTED.

London, Oct. 12. Mr. Lloyd George, the Liberal leader, spanking at the Liberal Conference at Yarmouth, made an important declaration regarding the Liberal position at the General Election which will take place next year.

Ile forecast that there would be of majority an overwhelming votes against the Conservative Government, that there would be an enormous accession of strength to the Libernia, and that whatever party was in the majority it would not be Labour,

Opposed to Both. Dealing with the possibility of no one Party having a definite majority over the others, Mr. Lloyd George said the Liberal Party was equally opposed to both

and the Conservative Parties,

Labour

If the prosperity and the well- being of the country were to fall Into the hands of either of these two Parties, the Liberals would have very little to choose between strangling prosperity with the rope of tarifs or drawing and quartering it by Socialism.

They apparently aucceeded in gaining control of part of the ship at least, as the attacked and wound- ed the pilot, and enptured the Cap- tain and took him ashore. The captive was later released, how ever, and allowed to returned to his ship.

As far as can be gathered from the brief message, there was no attempt made to rab the ship and the shooting of the pilot and cap ture of the Captain appear to have been means to cover up the flight of the pirates to the shore,
