FLORIDA HURRICANE HAVOC: PRELUDE TO LAST WEEK'S DISASTER.

The havoc wreaking burricans which has devastated Florida, had a forerunner only a month before in the form of a hurricane of only slightly less violence. Highwayя and buildings were flooded. Top picture shows a horseman, ploughing through the floods, and the bottom some wrecked houses.

Tho aftermath of the first Florida hurricane was the tor- rential rain. The half-submerged motor-car in the upper ploture was taken just outside Okeechobee. The bottom ploture was a flashlight, taken while the gale still blow, of a bridge which was wrecked. Okeechobee also suffered savorely last week.
