POSSIBILITIES.

RESEARCH PARTY FOR THE PHILIPPINES.

Washington, June 14., Plans are being completed by the department of agricultura for an investigation of rubber possibl lities in the Philippines. The sur- vey is to be made with funds which become available during the next fiscal year.

Mr. O. F. Cook, in charge of rub ber investigation in the bureau of plant industries, will leave for the islands shortly after July 1. The survey is to be made under the direction of Dr. W. Taylor, chief of the bureau. The new rubber re- search was made possible through an appropriation of $105,000 at he Inst session of Congress for "exploration, research and field experinent relating to potential rubber producing planta."
