FINE IMPOSED BY KOWLOON MAGISTRATE.

The owner of a plot of ground in Hai Tan Street, Shamshuipo, was summoned by Sanitary In- spector A. C. Sinton, before Mr. W. Schofield at the Kowloon Magistracy this morning, for fail ing to abato a nuisance by des troying mosquito larvae which had accumulated on the premises. The defendant said the site had been cleared and the holes in the ground filled with sand, but the recent heavy rains, had washed the sand away again.

According to Inspector Sinton, four samples of mosquito larvae had been taken from the premises and on each visit the Inspectori could see no signs of any attempt to abate the nuisance.

His Worship Imposed a fine of $25 and made an order that the nuisance should be abated within a fortnight.
