Notes.
A considerable number of the Treasury Notes from the Russian banks had been definitely traced to the Communist Party of Great Britain and its allied "bodies.
The transactions were carried out by a clerk lu the Foreign Ex- change Department of the Moscow Narodny Bank, Ltd., in London, and two employees of the Russian trading institution "Centrosoyus.”
All three had been dismissed from their employment, and the directors of the firms, Mr. A. Gourevitch, and Mr. Kasparson, had disclaimed all knowledge of the transactions.
Manager's Denials.
Mr. Gourevitch wrote: "I desire to state most emphatically that the bank is solely engaged in ordinary banking and commercial transac tlons and has to its knowledge had no dealings at all with Irish or other gun-men,”
Mr. Kasparson stated: "I most cnaphatically deny any connection between my bank and the persons referred to by you."
A number of other employces of the two concerns, suspected of possible complicity, had also been discharged.
Mr. Locker-Lampson replied that if there existed any suspicion of any infringement of the Treaty, the League of Nations was entitled to institute an enquiry. Reuter.
