"Dancing Mothers,"
Herbert Brennon, the director of "Peter Pan" and "A Kiss, for Cinderalla" returns to modern society drama in "Dancing Mo- thers," the picture showing at the World Theatre to-day and to morrow. "Dancing Mothers" is a convincing portrayal of a certain Ret of people. Alice Joyce plays the part of the neglected mother who stays at home waiting for a madcap daughter and a wandering while de- husband, then after a eiding to play a part herself in the whirlpool that threatens to engulf them all. The climax comes unexpectedly and has a twist that, while perfectly logical, Is something out of the ordinary in motion picture stories of this type. Conway Tearle is the lead- ing man and Clara Bow contri- butes in no small measure to the success of the picture."
"Drusilla With a Million." A picture which has been de- scribed as having the unusually strong human appeal is "Drusilla with a Million," which comes to the Star Theatre to-day and to- morrow. Mary Carr is Drusilla, a pathetic old soul, consigned to a charity home to spend her last days there in toil and drudgery. Through an odd turn of fate, how- ever, a distant relative dies and leaves her a million dollars and a beautiful country home. The story thereafter develops in dramatic and logical fashion, culminating in a big emotional climax, Mary Carr's work far transcends anything she has has done before and Prisella Bonner, hitherto little known, has a part which would delight Lillian Gish.
