At the Lusitano Club last evening, Mr. H. Lux (Hongkong) opposed it. F. A. A. Alvarez (Shanghai) in the Interpart billiards, contest, the result being in favour of the local cucist by a large margin, after a compara- tively poor game.

From the start, Luz was much the better, and when he reached 114, AL. varez was still less than 50. Breaks. were generally low, and at the interval Luz was registering 253 while Alvarez was only at 86.

After the interval, Alvarez made a better showing, and quickly brought his store up to 11b, but Laz kept on and rapidly went above the 250 mark. Luz reached 300 while Alvarez was still loitering along in the region of Visitor's first break the century.
