It is founded much on the sume lines as similar Unions In Canton, Shanghai and elsewhere, and amongst its raisons d'etre are those of cultivating social, intel- lectual and athletic relations amongst the members. An extimate of the occupations proposed to be taken up, or which have been actually taken up by these returned students, shows that less than five per cent, are medical men, the re- mainder being absorbed in business, or callings which come under thé 'hénding of arts; with a few in one or two branches of "professional" life.

It is apparent from the release of the two Trenaury clerks who were originally detrifned, in connexion with the case, that 'the authorities have yet to discover the culprits res ponsible for over two-and-a-half lakhs of public money having dis appeared.
