From Hongkong pictures of all kinds arrive. Photographic work is well represented, but paintings are also received. The number of pictures of historical interest is not as large as was at first ex- pected, but among those received are many of very great interest to the Portuguèse.
Upon percentage enticulation the girls schools head the list. At two of them, St. Mary's School and the Ying Wa Girls' School, all the candidates passed. The highest number of candidates sent up by a girls' school was, however, 19, Whereas Queen's College sent up
110 boys.
An interesting feature was that of some 70 candidates prepared by private study only four passed.

The disclosure of the imponding departure of one of the jurors who was impanelled to investigate a recent murder at Kowloon City brought the proceedings to n abrupt end at the Kowloon Magis.. tracy yesterday afternoon, after! the hoaring had been in progréss for over an hour.
The inquiry was to investigate the circumstances of the death of a Chinese who was murdered on the night on November 26, when the deceased's residence at No. 23, Tung Tau-Village, Kowloon City was broken into by three armed men, with the apparent intention of committing a robbery.
