CANTON'S BIG NEW LOAN.
There are general expectations of the early return to Canton, to take up office in the reconstructed Government, of Mr. C. C. Wu, Mr. Sun Fo and General Wu Te-chèn, They were expected to arrivs in Hongkong this morning by the President Grant, and many Chinese gathered at the Kowloon wharf to give them a welcome, "but it was found that none of the three leaders was, aboard..
However, Mrs. Wu Te-chen and a number of lady relatives of General Wu and My, Sun Fo, as well as the latter's secretary, were aboard, and it is believed that the three leaders mentioned will sail from Shanghai for the South on Saturday next.
Chlef interest in Canton at the moment is contred on efforts to rehabilitate the Central Bank notes, in which connexion merchants have met officials and agreed to issue a loan of ten million dollars to the Government, secured on certain revenues.
