On the heels of news telling of the success of stock-model Stude- baker Commanders in the slock- car raees at Atlantic City (U.S.A.) comes word from the parent Studebaker botly of a new extraordinary achievement. The following cable was received this week by the Studebaker Corpora- tion of Australasia:---

Roadsters completed 25,000 miles In less than 23,000 minutes, establishing average of 66.31 miles per hour. Records super- vised and checked by Contest Board of American Automobile | Association.”

Some little time ago the Com- manders gave other proofs of their high calibre. A stock model five-passenger four-door Comman- der sedan established a new rc- cord for the 3,302 miles run from the Atlantic to the Pacific coasts of U.S. Its time was 77hr. 40min" 14min. an improvement of 2hr. over the previous record.

Then, in the stock car races ut Atlantic City, two Commander sports roadsters won first and second places in the 75-mile event. Their times were 25.95 and 84.58 miles, respectively.

As a hili-climber, the same model car also showed to advant- age in the annual Pike's Peak event the classic hill-climb event of U.S.A. The Studebaker travell- ed the distance or over 12 miles, climbing for 4754ft, at an average speed of 13.14 miles per hour,
