EXTRADITION CASE.
CANADIAN BROUGHT FROM CHILE.
Moneys to the value of over £2,000 are involved in a fraud alleged to have been perpetrated by Richard Charles Williams, alias Charles Puig, alias Charles Stone (31), a native of Quebec, Canada, who appeared before Mr. R, E. Lindsell at the Central Magistracy at noon on Saturday. The defendant was extradited from Chile and brought to the Colony by the s.s. Fushimi Maru on Friday.
His Worship summoned the de- fendaht in the usual manner and after calling out the name and alfases, the defendant was asked, "Do you admit the aliases?"
The defendant: That's quite possible.
His Worship then read the charges to the accused, pleas not being taken, but the defendant was asked if he understood the indictments and he replied that he
did.

A l'ortuguese clerk, named A, A. Remedioa, was charged on remand before Mr. R. E. Lindsell at the Central Magistracy on Saturday with stealing gas by means of a trick and with making false entries in the account books of his employees.
Mr.. A Wadearn prosecuted on behalf of the Hongkong Gag Co., and Mr. Leo d'Almada Sr. appeared for the defence.
Mr. Lindsell äsked if the case would take long and Mr. d'Almada replied, "I really don't know how many witnesses my friend intends calling, but I shall subpoena" at least a dozen."
