Cancer Attributed to the Cockroach!

THIS startling claim was made by a number of the worl's foremost authorities after a great many years of research.

The cockroach, we are told, by defiling food with its dirt and filth, sp: eads- the dreaded germ of cancer.

...... 615.

Flit spray clears the house in a few minutes of disease bearing flies, 'mos- quiloes, bed bugs, cockroaches, ants, moths, fleas and silverfish. It searches

out the cracks where insects hide and breed, destroying their eggs. Flit spray kills moths and their larvae which eat holes. Extensive tests showed that Flit spray did not stain the most delicate fabrics. Flit is clean and easy to use, death to insects but harmless to mankind. It is economy to use Flit and avoid disease. For sale everywhere.' Sole Agents For China: MUSTARD & Co, Ltd.

As the tireless enegry of man has traced the cancer germ from its inception, so man's ingenuity has also discovered the way for destroying the loathesome cockroach.

THE HIGH COST OF LIVING. Urging that increased stall rents would be made the excuse for higher prices in the markets, both Air, J. P. Braga and Dr. S. W. T'so addressed yesterday's meeting of the Sanitary Board in opposition to a readjustment of market rents. Eventually, Mr. J. P., Braga gave notice that he would propose at the next meeting that a committee of the President and the two Chin- eso members be appointed to en- quire into the question of stall renta.

Mr. Braga said: In the course of a debate in this room on the 6th September on the question of the high prices of fresh foodstuffs in Hongkong. I laid stress on the pos- Bibility of the butchers' guild operating as one of the determin- ing factors in the keeping up and the raising of the prices in the markets of the Colony. You, Sir, in your reply thought that "wo were too apt to make too much of the bogey of the ring' and the Guild."
