An order of acquittal made by the District Judge (Mr. N. D. Mudie) in a case in which the Singapore Municipality prosecuted Mr. S. E. Angalia under the Anti-Mosquito Ordinance, has been reversed by the Chief Justice, Sir William Morison, on an appeal by the Municipality, His Lordship's judgment was given last week as follows:
This is an appeal by the Crown on behalf of the Municipal Com- missioners against the acquittal of the respondent by the District Judge, upon a charge of contraven ing section 15 of Ordinance No. 174 (Destruction of Mosquitoes) by using certain premises so as to lessen the efficiency of anti-mos- quite works constructed by the appellant.
