It is desirable that by whatever means water is hereafter brought into the City- it should be conducted to a pourt before as it is possible to only two Service Tanks,
distribution-as
get it. There
are
high
of sufficient dimensions to be called so,
lan as No. 1 and D(although
sheww on
the
plan
there are really several smaller ones) through which the supply is passed to the Aby; and these are situated at height, far too low to admit of any great pressure being " given _ _ They will however shell be of use
assisting the distribution to the localities in which they
are situated.
I have ourited to state with 2 reference to the 10 wich Conduit pipe that throughout its entire length - it has
only
ous air valve and that is situated arabout
150 feet below, its upper end at Pokfoolum. or at the point marked B on the plan. : The Corst iron pipes have mostly socket jouits - but in some instances ouring to the starp bends of the roade - plain pipes
merely butted together and covered with

non ferrules which hewe ben' a frequent cause of leakage._
I do not think I need refer to the expeten of distribution in the Aby otheruri then to say that as the streets have been laid out- es the mairis have followed them. frequently without due regard to levels - so that eskad of falling eventy toevards their respective termini - they meander in various directions - cornetimes rising and sometimes falling.
It will therefore be necessary to relay them throughout the principal part of the City. when another channel shall have been substituted for the 10 wich pipes in the Pokfoolum road. they will be available. at a small cost ur cleaning for for this purpose. Those also now in the main thoroughfares, for which these will be substituted, serving in like manner,
other localities.
