In answer to further questions he said the rope in court was not the same as that with which he tied up his bicycle as it was thicker." He said he thought there was some ropa in his house similar to that in court.

The mui tsni, he continued, belonged formerly to Li Wai, his wife's brother, and she had been given to him two years ago. After the tragedy she was taken back to Li Wai by the police, and whatever she had said there she had been enached to sAY.

Prisoner admitted that the mui tai was with him until the time of his arrest, and it was after his Arrest that she was taken back to Li Wai. So far as he knew there WIS neommunication between the nui tsai and Li Wal prior to

his arrest.

Prisoner was shown a looped rope and was asked if he made the knot, to which he replied in the negative.

I trust the Society's efforts will result not only in greater fina cial, but also in numerical strength.
