SWEEPSTAKES LUCK.

MR. CURZON'S £31,000 SHARE

Wealth beyond their most fan- instic dreams is now in the posses- sion of the winners of the great sweepstakes, says a. Home paper of June 2.

was

The greatest prize of all goes to Mr. Billy Kilpatrick, of Capetown, who drew Call Boy in the Calcutta Sweepstakes. The prize £168,000, but Mr. Kilpatrick sold three-quarters of his share for £20,000. He thus receives a little over £60,000. A bachelor, aged 40, he was a dental mechanic earning 3 week, and formerly lived in Leeds, where he was a member of an entertainment party,

His mother and sister live in a cottage at Milnthorpe, Westmor- iand. They were overjoyed when they heard of Mr. Kilpatrick's good fortune. His mother said he was coming home soon.

Mr. William Jones," a Birming- ham company director, who lives. nt Swallows Nest, Allwell-road, Felixstowe, was the holder of the Call Boy ticket, worth £75,000, in the Stock Exchange aweep, but he sold three-quarters of his holding -half, it is stated, to Mr. Frank Curzon, the owner of Call Boy, for £6,500, and another quarter to a Piccadilly firm of bookmakers. Mr. Curzon thus adds £31,000 to his winnings and Mr. Jones gets £18,- 750,

Mr. A. J. Latham, who drew Hot Night in the Stock Exchange sweep and wins £35,000, is a clerk om- ployed by Messrs. Contes, Son and Company, Ltd., stockbrokers, of Gresham-street," B.C. He is a young married man with two child- ren and lives near Bishop's Stort- ford.

יי

Mr. Latham, who sold half his. chance for £4,000, was not at work yesterday. He has already bought mctor-car out of his winnings.

"£10,000 Fortune.

The holder of Shian-Mor's num- ber in the Calcutta sweep has come into a fortune of £40,000 if he has kept his ticket. His name has not yet been disclosed.

Mr. H. J. Streatfield, Hartington- villas, Hove, who drew. Lone Knight (unplaced) in the Calcutta sweep, sold a half-share for rough- ly £6,000.

The following were the four numbers drawn for the four conso- lation prizes of £500 each in con- nexion with the Stock Exchange sweep: 88320; '06,469; 126,019; 143,252,

The mast unhappy man who bought a winning sweepstakes ticket must be Mr. Ralph J. Mul- ler, a partner in the firm of Muller and Macleod, grain brokers; of City-chambers, Funchurch-street. Mr. Muller told a reporter that he bought a ticket, which he after- wards sold to his partner, who in turn sold it to a friend. That ticket bore the number to which Call Boy was allotted, and entitled its owner to a prize of £12,000.

In the Royal Automobile Club sweeps the 25 and the £1-Call Boy was drawn by Mr. H. E. Dun-) hill and Mr. J. I. Goldman respec- tively. The first prize in the 25 sweep is worth about £2,000 and Mr. Goldman's winnings will be about £4,800,
