The heavy rainstorm of Monday morning caused this to give way, I exerting a terriffic water pressure at the back of the wall and result- ing in its collapse.
The new road, which merely ra- quired surfacing to render it com- plete, is now blocked with hzo dreds of tons of debris, the remalus of the wall being, covered with masses of earth and stones which formerly formed part of Conduit Road and the embankment above
