LACK OF EXERCISE.
CAUSE OF MORTALITY. AMONG PIGS.
There was an amusing develop- ment at the Kowloon Mügistracy this morning in the case in which four men are being charged before Mr. W. Schofield with receiving 40 Flys, knowing the same, to have been stolen or unlawfully obtained on or outside the waters of the Colony on April 20.
On the case being called this morning, Sub-Inspector. Dorling made an application for the dis- posal of 14 of the animals which had died since the last hearing. The Veterinary Surgeon had ex- amined the dead swine and was. Batisfied that they had died of lack of exorcies. The prosecution was asking for an order giving the Police power to sell the animals. The money realised could be placed in the custody of the Court and handed to which- ever party won the case.
His Worship made an order for the dead pigs to be disposed of, and remanded the defendants till to-morrow afternoon.

Notwithstanding theae denials, the British Government possessed a telegram of November last year from the Soviet Com- misser of Foreign Affairs to the Soviet representative at Peking, whereby it was laid down, first, that Borodin should take orders direct from Moscow; secondly that the Far Eastern bureau was to be instructed of all the decisions regarding the general policy of the Kuomintang, and the military and political works must be agreed upon with Borodin; thirdly, if they disagree, mutters shall be referred to Moscow. The Peking representative should be kept in- formed by Berodin and the Far Eastern bureau of their decisions. Further, Borodin's appointment as official Soviet representative at Canton was considered inadvis- able, but he was to remain in charge of the work in the Canton- ese provinces and an official re- presentative to the Canton Gov-! ernment should be appointed.
London Charge Implicated. Mr. Baldwin also disclosed il- legitimate activities regarding China in the form of a telegram from Rosengolz to Moscow, on April 1, urging that Tomsky in: Berlin should obtain information with a view to conducting a pro- test campaign against British violence in China, and particular-
